Exuberant Colour Echoes of Impressionism in Worcester’s collection
24 July – 20 November, 2010
Painting by David Davies
The revolutionary vivid colours, thick paint and distinctive brushstrokes of the French Impressionists continued to influence painters through the first half of the twentieth century.
This exhibition explores a dozen paintings from Worcester’s collection in more depth, delving into the stories of the artists’ lives, their inspiration and their painting methods. Visitors can also discover more about using colour with some family activities.
