Aerial view of Central Worcester, 1999 (north
at top of picture)
The outline of the old medieval city wall can
clearly be seen in the eastern part of the central area, while the
extensive medieval suburb along the Forgeate has clearly influenced
the shape of development along the main road coming into the city
from the north (comprising, from N-S, Barbourne Road, The Tything,
Upper Tything, Foregate and the High Street).
This image was made from a montage of 8 rectified aerial photographs
from the Milennium Mapping project (MAPS
1999).
