The Foregate (21k)

The North Gate or Foregate

Built some time before 1200, the North Gate cut the pre-exisiting northern suburb in two, enclosing only The Cross. To one side of the gate, the public latrine overhangs the city wall and ditch. The North Gate was demolished in the 18th century.
