A Worcester city church: St Peter the Great, off Sidbury. The medieval church was demolished the year after this drawing of 1835by HH Lines; its successor went in 1976. Although this shows the medieval building, none of the features visible here would have been built at the time of the model, c.1250. To reconstruct the St Peter's of 1250, all we have is the final footprint (block plan) of the church from historic maps; evidence of how wealthy and populous the church and its parish were (they were poor); and a general knowledge of how churches were developing in the region at this time.
