Inheriting a boundary: an example from Blackfriars, Worcester.

Excavations in 1985-6 on the Blackfriars site (HWCM 378), near Angel Square, found a classic archaeological sequence where a landscape feature was passed down through nearly two millennia...in this case a Roman road.

The scale in the section is 2m high (with 500mm divisions), while the section is orientated east-west, bisecting the north-south aligned roads and walls at a 90 degree angle.
