A 13th century pitcher from France - Many goods were imported to the city from elsewhere. Most came from the Severn valley and its hinterland - timber and coal from North Worcestershire and Shropshire, pottery from the Bristol area - but some archaeological finds, such as this pitcher from Saintonge in SW France, show evidence of more long-distance trade in luxury goods.
