Severn Street (1905)

by E.A.Phipson

Severn Street runs from Edgar Street to the river. It was formerly known as Frog Lane and passed out of the medieval city through Frog Gate. Today it runs between the Royal Porcelain Works and the King's School. These cottages stood on land now occupied by the school, and were painted by E.A.Phipson in 1905. Many of the houses in Severn Street were once occupied by salmon fishermen.
