The Droitwich Salt Trow 'Hastings', 1883
Anonymous

Since roman times, at least, salt has been traded from Droitwich via the River Severn. Indeed Castle Street was known as Salt Lane until the 19th century. This photograph shows the Droitwich Salt Trow 'Hastings' stuck underneath Worcester Bridge during the floods of 1883.
