S.S. Worcester
Anonymous

S.S. Worcester, sailing alongside the South Quay, is a reminder of Worcester's important trading links via the River Severn with Europe. She made her first voyage in 1850 from Oporto, Portugal with wines and oil cake, and traded on the River Severn until 1853. There is also much archaeological evidence for Worcester's commercial connections with France and Spain in the roman and medieval periods.
