Lich Street in 1904 by E.A.Phipson. Friar
Street can be seen in the background, and on the right
parts of St Michael's Church and the Lich Gate. Lich Street
was a medieval thoroughfare linking High Street to Friar
Street and Sidbury. It was an attractive street of timber-framed
and brick buildings, but had fallen into decline by the
early years of the 20th century. It was cleared in the
1950s and 1960s.
