14-15 The Shambles (1890)
by E.A.Phipson

Few buildings of pre-1900 date survive today in the Shambles. This property with its wide timber-framed gable was a prominent feature on the west side of the street. The Shambles was largely occupied by butchers' premises from the medieval period until the 1930's.
