This 19th century print
shows the Shire Hall beyond iron railings and before the
erection of the statue of Queen Victoria in 1887. The
Shire Hall was built in 1834-5 to a grecian design by
Charles Day and Henry Rave. A major refurbishment was
completed in 1995.
