Across the line of the City Walls (1975)

Anonymous

An aerial view in 1975 across the line of the city walls, seen behind the digger and parked cars. In the centre of the picture can be seen a long low building, formerly Wyatts Almshouses, which has recently been extended and converted into flats. The almshouses were founded for six poor men by Edward Wyatt, Mayor of the city in 1696. On the skyline to the left stands Townsend's flour mill in Diglis, whilst in the centre the former Cinderella shoe factory and Winwoods property is undergoing conversion to become part of Worcester's College of Technology. On the right behind the car park ramp is the east end of the Cathedral.
