College Hall (early 20th century)

Anonymous

College Hall looking east in the early 20th century. Beyond the platform are the damaged remains of a sculpture of Christ in Majesty surrounded by the symbols of the Evangelists. It was carved c.1220-1230, and was reused when the refectory was rebuilt in the 14th century. The niches and friezes date from this time.
