The Scala Cinema in 1952, seen here during a publicity event
for a Tarzan and Jane. The Scala opened in 1922 and became one of
Worcester's longest running cinemas - finally closing in 1973. Today
it houses numerous businesses including a tanning studio, a Turkish
kebab house and an amusement arcade.
Next door to the Cinema can be seen the Angel Street Corn Exchange.
Built in 1848, this was Worcester's main Corn Exchange until the late
1800's. The building has subsequently played host to many different
tenants and today houses an Italian restaurant. The Horn and Trumpet
public house across the road is still going strong as a popular drinking
haunt.
