The Market Hall, Shambles entrance in 2004. The hall was built
in 1804 opposite the Guildhall and ran between the High Street and
the Shambles. However an extra wing opened in 1881 and ran through
to Pump Street, the entrance of which can still be seen today. The
only remnant of the hall in the High street is a clock which was given
by Richard Padmore in 1849 - City Arcade entrance,
2004.
