The property occupied by the Arcade Cinema marked in red on the 1886 1:2500 OS map The Arcade Cinema stood between Church Street and St Swithins Street (the property marked in red on the 1886 1:2500 OS map extract on the left). The cinema opened in 1912 but only ran until the 1930's when it was purchased by the Gaumont British Picture Co. and closed.

The Gaumont Cinema opened shortly afterwards in Foregate Street as a replacement.
