J & F Hall Ltd was a long established hardware business
based in a 16th century timber framed building on the corner
of St Swithins and Church Street (marked in red on the 1886
1:2500 OS map extract on the left). Its demolition in the 1960's
raised an outcry from the public. Its replacement now houses
H. Samuel. Jewellers.
