The site of St Michael's in 2004. Originally St Michael's had
been built across the road next to the Cathedral; however in 1839
it was rebuilt opposite next to the medieval Lich Gate. St Michael's,
the Lich Gate and the Punch Bowl Inn were all demolished in 1965 to
be replaced by the Lychgate Shopping Centre, which is currently under
refurbishment as the Cathedral Plaza. |
