Childhood Days - Temporary Exhibition Area

Discover the lives of children who have known the Commandery as home, school and sweetshop. Includes our new activity space for kids of all ages and the period display of the Victorian schoolroom.


Worcester 1250 Model looking south - Click on image for a detailed preview The Commandery Chronicle - An exhibition telling the story of the Commandery site from its origins as a Saxon chaple through its use as a medieval hospital, Civil War HQ, Printers and College for the Blind. This exhibition is located in the magnificanr Solar Room - click here for more information about the history of the building.
The exhibition includes a wonderful 1:500 scale reconstruction of the walled city in the 13th century built by model makers Hugh Watson and Dave Austin, and Jeremy Burr. This model originally featured in a special Y2000 exhibition at the Commandery called Plotting the Past Planning the Future - part of which can be browsed by clicking here.
