Exhibition: Wicked Worcester

Take a walk on the dark side of Worcester with this fascinating exhibition exploring death, destruction and disease in Worcester through the ages. Find out about bad King John, one of the most disliked monarchs in history, who is buried in Worcester Cathedral. Explore the myths and superstitions surrounding Oliver Cromwell's pact with the devil. Uncover some of the cruel and unusual punishments used throughout Worcester's history and discover how the plaque affected the city in 1637. |

Exhibition: Civil War

Learn about the Battle of Worcester, fought on the 3rd September 1651 and see displays from the Battle of Worcester Society. Meet re-enactors and join in the show and tell with weapons and reproduction artefacts. Local sculptor Ken Potts, will be showing a model of the proposed monument to commemorate the battle. |

Civil War Drumhead Service
Join this special anniversary march and service to honour the fallen soldiers of the final battle of the English Civil War. Leaving the Commandery at 7.15pm join the Battle of Worcester Society and Civil War re-enactors as they march up Fort Royal Hill for a Drumhead Service starting at 7.30pm with a musket volley and short remembrance service. |

Civil War Live
10am – 5pm on both days
Experience the thrill of a 17th century living history soldier camp in the grounds of the Commandery. Meet the Civil War soldiers at rest, and watch the firing displays, pike and musket drills as they get ready to go back into battle. Have a go at marching in time, take part in a pike drill and try out our historical games! See and learn about civilian life inside the Commandery with activities, pastimes and crafts.
